It's hard to write this & watch the game! (not any more) The location photo was taken just a few steps outside our cabin next to the Bright Angel Trail that's the trail you take to go to the bottom of the canyon.
We saw a lot of beautiful scenery today. We went to Zion Natl. Park, UT, & drove the Zion Scenic Trail which is only open to cars in the winter. Traveling into AZ, we drove through the Vermillion Cliffs (which are vermillion) & drove over Lake Powell. There is a huge power plant there that supplies power everywhere. The lake looked really low, just like our Lake Texana.
We arrived here early enough to explore the Desert View Drive & visit the watch tower. We walked the Rim Trail which skirts the edge (& I do mean edge) of the canyon & is right outside our door, to eat...taking photos along the way. Oh, I had time to visit the gift shop, too!
That's about it for today. We've driven 4,118 miles altogether. We like to listen to Willie's XM station that plays western oldies. Yesterday we heard a song called,"With Your Money and My Good Looks, We Could Take Trip" (really!). I thought that sounded like us, but we couldn't figure out who had the money & who had the looks!
Hope you & yours are well.
Kathleen
