Went on "Seaspray sailing adventure" today, greeted by our crew of 7 fijian men giving us a glass of chamagne - yum! The bar was open all day 2 cool boxes full of Fiji beer, wine and soft drinks - these were constantly refilled all day for us to help ourselves - all food and drink was included in the price! Throughout the day the crew kept picking up guitars and ukeleles and breaking into song - the 1st thing the sang was "You are my sunshine" :) they all have amazing voices out here!
First stop today was the island where they filmed the movie "Castaway" it was so beautiful and remote! Floating on the waves for about half an hour has to be one of the most relaxing things I have ever done! and again there was no wehre else in the world i wanted to be!
Next stop was an island with no tourist resorts just a traditional village of about 200-300 people! In fiji when strangers visit a village it is traditional for them to present the chief with Kava. The chief will accept and bless the Kava and then conduct a Kava ceremony to welcome the visitors who are then free to do what they want in the village. Goolge a Kava ceremony because you all get unlimited internet and it will take up lots of my valuable time to explain it now!!!! It tastes like muddy water and looks like it too!!!! After the ceremony we went to a local market where the women of the village were selling hand crafted jewelery and ornaments
Back to the seaspray for the last time - the crew did more singing and then dropped us off at Mana island. At this point it was raining VERY hard and for the first time since being in Fiji I was COLD!
