On our last night in Hanoi we had the pleasure of seeing the water puppet show, which was a weird mix of Vietnamese singing and fighting puppets and animals in the water. It had a story behind it but of course this was in vietnamese so we didn't have a clue what we were watching, but it was fun all the same.
We had an early start on Sunday and a day of traveling from Hanoi to Bangkok. When we arrived in Bangkok we were pleasantly surprised as we'd heard mixed reviews about it. It was late afternoon so we walked around town for a bit, grabbed some food and chilled in our hotel. On Monday we travelled to Ko Samui. It really is beautiful here. Our hotel is on the beach, the weather is brilliant and the hotel is really peaceful and quiet.
On Tuesday we had a nice chilled day around the pool and beach. Our first day of doing nothing since we started our adventure and it felt good, but strange :o) In the evening we got a taxi into Lamai where there are lots of bars and restaurants and a market! We had some dinner and took a look around the market, where we bought hats for Wednesday adventure day.
Today (Wednesday) we booked on a Safari tour and visited many different tourist attractions on the island. Our first stop was a huge gold Buddha that stood 15ft tall, next we headed to the safari park where we watched lots of different animal shows including elephants, crocodiles, monkeys and snakes. We had traditional thai food for lunch and then headed to a beautiful waterfall where James and I jumped in from the rocks and swan underneath it. I'll upload pics. We then headed to do Elephant Trekking, which was really fun. The guy that was riding the elephant at the front (we were on seats behind him) jumped off the elephant and asked me to ride at the front! Which was scary! Me and James both had a go of riding the elephant and had lots of photos taken.
After our elephant trekking James has his photo taken with a big tiger. (very brave) we then headed to visit a random monk that had been mummified!! It was a bit strange! We then grabbed some dinner at the hotel and booked our ferry for our onward journey on Friday. We are very much looking forward to a day around the pool tomorrow. Speak to you all soon! Miss you xxx
