Finally arrived in Perth after 24hours. The flight was fine as we slept most of it, got to our hotel and crashed out. Typically the girl on reception was called Kylie, of course!
Today we have literally seen the whole of Perth! We walked to the Barrack Street Jetty where we had a full English and a cup of tea. We then got the ferry across to Perth Zoo. After walking around and seeing every animal possible, Barry and I were asked to be 'guinea pigs' for a new trainee bird keeper. We handled and fed 2 big black, red tailed cockatoos. The poor trainee was being harassed by the cockatoo who kept jumping on his back and biting his head. Much to our amusement.
After our bird encounter we met a Kangeroo. It was leisurely sunning itself on the footpath. We were able to go right up to him and stroke him, obviously he like tourist as he just laid there and lapped the attention up. It was such a lovely experience, seeing as it was my first ever time seeing a Kangeroo and it not being behind a fence.
We returned via the ferry to Perth centre and hopped on the bus around the city. We literally covered the whole of the city and we passed places like the WACA cricket ground, Perth station and lots of shops and resturants where we stopped and had a cup of tea.
After touring Perth for the day we headed back to the hotel for dinner. We are off to Fremantle tomorrow. :o)
