Hi everyone thanks for all the messages and sorry we have not updated for a while. We've been travelling down the East Coast for the last month, arriving in Cairns from Melbourne we were pleased to be back in warmer weather and ditching our winter clothes! Spent a week in Cairns and went out to the Great Barrier Reef where we dived and snorkelled. We hired a car to go up to Cape Tribulation where beautiful beaches and the rainforest meet. Our next stop down the coast was what Graham was looking forward to and Katie dreading - Skydiving Mission Beach!! It took some wine (at 11am) and a bottle of rescue remedy to get Katie on the plane but we both did it! Absolutly amazing feeling jumping out of a tiny rickety plane at 14,000 feet and coming down over the stunning coastline is an experience we wont forget - wait till we bore you with the pictures and DVD's! We spent a couple of days catching rays on Magnetic Island and then the next stop was Airlie Beach, gateway to the Whitsundays. WOW what an amazing place, we were onboard our boat sailing the Whitsundays for 2 nights and visited gorgeous Whitehaven Beach where the sand is 98 percent Silica which means you can brush your teeth and polish your jewerelly with it. The colour of the sea is something off of a postcard and for Graham even the second time around was breathtaking. Could of stayed there for days on end, the sunsets each night and the hilarious drinking games made for a super few days (and a few sore heads!) Fraser Island was our next adventure, imagine 66 backpackers, 6 4x4 jeeps, no 4WD experience, lots of cheap wine and crates of beer all let loose on the worlds biggest sand island minus any tarmac! Safe to say it made for a crazy 3 days of getting stuck in sand (alot!), flat batterys (typically our jeep!) and great camp parties! Camping on the beach, visiting fresh water lakes in the middle of the island and watching Whales off the coast were a few of the highlights. Inbetween all this we've somehow had the time to learn to surf and visit Australia Zoo (Steve Irwins) where we fed kangaroos and held a Koala. We are now in Brisbane for a few days and heading to Surfers Paradise to top up the tans and recover from a brilliant month in Queensland!!
