Another beautiful morning, that continued into a beautiful day. We started with a trip to Lobster Head Cove, a Parks Canada site with a lighthouse and very interesting history of the people who lived their and ran it. Bonnie Lou, a local woman gave us an excellent tour/history of the area, herself and the lighthouse. What started as a 20 min tour, quickly became an hour tour. But it was wonderful! Would definitely recommend visiting the lighthouse and trails just beside Rocky Harbour!
From their we walked the 3km trial to Western Brook Pond to view the fjord. It was a beautiful view! We sat on some more red chairs and had lunch overlooking the fjord, then made our way back to the car. Just before reaching Sally's Cove we saw some cars pulled over on the side of the road and there was a moose grazing! It ran away as the next car to pull over got greedy for a view and stopped directly beside the moose, spooking it.
Next we checked into Wildflowers Inn (a cute room with a lovely deck overlooking the harbour.) Our last big plan was to visit Norris Point. An adorable town with boat tours and excellent views. Instead of the expensive boat tour we opted to enjoy beer on the floating patio and relax for our last couple hours. Our trip home involved ice cream and a walk out on the Rocky Harbour pier. Then pizza on our balcony as the sun set. Vacation life is a rough life...
