Today was uneventful for the most part. We checked out of the residence in the morning, loaded the car and went to the fastest Tim Horton's I've ever experienced. Then we were on the road for Gros Morne National Park, more specifically Rocky Harbour where our Inn is for the next two nights.
There is nothing more exciting than the GPS telling you that your next turn isn't for another 654 km! I'm getting really well acquainted with the trans-Canada highway. We had lunch at A&W in Gander, only 400 ish km from our destination. More podcasts were heard, chats were had and music was enjoyed. It rained a lot. And by a lot I mean more than that. The garbage roads of potholes and ruts were filled with water. We saw many people with flat tires and caution was taken to avoid mass hydroplaning.
We turned on the outskirts of Deer Lake and entered Gros Morne! Another hour and we arrived. We have a spot at Fisherman's Landing Inn for two nights then we switch to a different Inn (booking late problems.) The Inn looked abandoned when we arrived, but in Gros Morne everyone is out exploring during the day. No need to sit around the hotel. We went to our lovely clean room and unloaded our things then headed to the Fisherman's Landing Restaurant on the harbour for scallops and a club sandwich before settling in for the night.
How did I almost forget!! Just around Come By Chance, Nfld we saw a MOOSE on the side of the highway! Very exciting :)
