Right then,....its been a while since ive been on here......
So since Otovalo we have been to Mindo and been zip lining, and swinming with waterfalls....we also tried Morocho mine and Lizzies new favourite drink....its like rice pudding....but runnier, theres cinnamon and cloves, and water and milk in it!....so so yummy!
We scaled a peak behind Quito....Rucu Pinchincha 4700m....we hard but amazing, so so cool, and we have done the Quilatoa loop....we have eyed upon Cotopaxi and amazing Volcano.....we have camped in Quilatoa volcano....active with a big laguna int he middle of it...we hiked to the next town of Chugchilan....so so hard but amazing.....possible the hardest thing I have ever done.....but so cool....we ranged from 12.600ft down to 9000ft back up to 10.500ft......brilliant...you´ll be able to see this all from the pics I thought id write about weird things we have seen or done.....
So: the first thing that pops to mind....we rode on a milk truck into Sigchos today to get the bus back to Latacunga and complete the loop......the truck stopped periodically to decant milk from a big blue plastic barrel to villagers with jugs, then as it went along it collected milk from other villagers that was stored in water bottles....and just poured back into the barrel all mixed together and straight from the cow....we stopped at a school and gave milk to children from that barrel...also we had had some of that milk this morning.....hahahah I thought of you Sarah (bards missus) the whole way!
We keep seeing fried chickens feet.......a lady swatting flies off the dead chickend hanging on hooks in the market......a lady swatting flies of the surface she prepared our food on....no wiping clean involved.!!!
They cant flush loo roll here as they have limited water supply so we have to put all...and i mean all tissue in the open bin by the side of the loo!!! you pay between 10 and 20 centavos to use the loo and get issues loo roll at the door....no loo roll in the cubical.....
BBQed intestines today.......
When we camped in the volcano we walked around the water edge and saw water bubbling....we slept there that night...we both dreamt the volvano errupted in the night.....
When on the milk truck we helped load up empty gas canisters....this frail old man brought one over and the was handed down a full one and ran up the road with it on his shoulder then up a bank before coming back and riding in the back of the truck with us!!!
On the way to Quilatoa.....we had to get a truck from Zumbabua to Quilatoa....to get on we had to climb up and then over this pole...i sat on the edge and lissie straddled the back pole while and the locals laughed at us....and the truck hurtled down the pock holed road....we had out backàcks on......s*** scary!!!!!! In a funny way!!!!
The use of children for earning money.....in Quito there was a small boy juggling infront of the traffic on the road.....picture London traffic.......a child guided us while we had a horse ride....children get on the Troles (trams) and shout and show gory pictures and then ask for money.....or they come down the bus trying to sell sweets....even at night......Lizzy saw a lady wallop a child today as sge wee´d on the side of the road.....so she could get on the bus!!!!
Dogs everywhere....and come into the resturaunts etc......
So much weird stuff......but funny and facinating....everyday is so cool for the brain...you take in so much stuff and so many sights.......its like a different world-......health and safety doesnt exist....and sometimes its quite nice and exciting.....like our perilous bus ride down small stracks and ont he edge of a canyon today......funny as!!!!!
Anyway...ive rambled too long......
I hope all at home are super dooper well:):):):)) Missing you all:)
