Today we took the train to Sighisoara, birthplace of Vlad the Impaler. Said to be the inspiration for the character of Dracula in Bram Stokers novel.
We saw Chris on the train, he was travelling on business. The 1.5 hour journey only cost £1.20. When we arrived, Chris kindly directed us to the centre. As we walked into town we were met by beautiful buildings and spires. We found a nice restaurant to eat at the pretty square. We had some fresh salads and potato dishes to accompany them.
With our strength re-gained we walked through the town and up to the citadel, many steps but worth it for the view. Later we walked to the oak tree nature reserve which was a long way out of town but worth it for the fresh air and impressive trees. Lucky they did't get permission to turn in into a Dracula theme park!
We saw Roma children begging throughout most of the day, it seems to be quite common here and it's obvious the locals get annoyed by it.
