Day one....
The flights were okay; London to Mumbai I didn't sleep but the in flight entertainment was awesome and the food was yum (minted pea & feta salad; lamb goulash & mustard mash; croissant & yogurt).
Arriving in Mumbai was hassle - obviously made worse by my lack of sleep. They didn't have any signs or people so we followed the crowd ended up in customs & then we were obviously rejected as we had no visa...turns out we needed to be in international transfers which in retrospect we should have realised but heyho!
Got to security and man are they strict in India - had a once over from the sternest looking Indian lady I've ever seen!! Idiots were strict but not thorough - they insist on stamping all bags/tickets/passes but missed one of mine and lucy's bags so when it came to check in we got hauled back to security and had to do it all again - which after no sleep you can imagine how unimpressed I was!
But once on board (seat A1!) I fell asleep before take off and woke up when they served lunch - the spiciest chicken biryani I've ever consumed and some crazy spicy pineapple; didn't try desserts on either flight both looked dubious, one was chocolate orange torte and the other was some sort of almond rice pudding bluegh...
Getting into Thailand was a dream really quick easy and simple...got into arrivals and there was a beaming smiley Thai man holding a card with our names on who took us to this plush mini van all White leather and air-conned up (which after even 10mins in the 30 degrees heat was blissful).
Took 40 mins to get to the hotel which is nice...clean airy with an amazing bathroom. Went for a wander when we arrived but it's all a bit overwhelming so didn't stray too far but it's all so big and colourful and everything is going on all the time.
Day two...
Today we went on a klong tour which is all the canals was unreal saw these massive alligator type reptiles and fed some crazy fishes. Just got back from the most colourful beautiful show full of music and dancing all about Thailand one word - immense!!!
We have decided Sunday is our chill day - repack our bags so we have a bit of each others stuff, just in case anything gets lost etc then have a Thai massage in our hotel and chill by our rooftop pool hehe.
Not too shabby for our 1st official day in Thailand
