Angkor Wat...WOW is all I can say it's huge and beautiful. We left at 4.30am so we could see the entire sunrise. on the same day we also saw the temple tomb raider was filmed in...stood where ange jolie did all her action shots. That was cool as the temple is covered in these amazing vines and trees. Then we climbed another temple the steps were huge and sloppy but I managed it thou now 2 days later my thigh muscles still ache...been rubbing in deep heat loads.
After the day of temples had a chill out then headed into siem reap for dinner. Cambodian food is so tasty I've had red Khmer curry, pink rice, raisin & pumpkin bread, sweet potato & beef, amok...all very tasty!!! Not that keen on the desserts thou it's always so coconutty!! Still getting used to have rice 3 times a day...rice for breakfast is ok thou I like it :-)
Yesterday was a mammoth day of travelling on a public coach I didn't really enjoy it but the hotel is nice and they do good breakfast. Got tuktuks into town last night and ate dinner. Saw heaps of geckos munching on the bugs...maybe I could be a gecko!! Was so tired had an early night back at the hotel.
Got out for 8am today and went to S-21 which is the Pol Pots torture prison in phnom penh - so brutal. There are photographs of every victim & the torture rooms are still set up. We met one of the survivors he was cool. Then went to the killing fields. GRIM. As you're walking around you can see bones and teeth in the ground, and rags from the clothes they were buried in. The worst bit was the killing tree which was next to a mass grave for babies and kids...they just smashed their heads in to the tree and chucked um in..nasty. There is a stack of 8000 skulls in the central memorial, that was scary too!
