So I have now had my first week here in Samos, and very much love being here! I am hoping to change my plans to come back as originally intended at christmas to and not come back out again, but we shall see what happens. Last week I learnt all my fish species of by heart, latin names..., so this week I can start doing fish surveys for archipelagos. I also need to learn my inverts now as well. This morning I went down and recorded what fish the fishermen are bringing in. They had a beautiful large female parrot fish- which is bright red. Today im off snorkelling this afternoon, along the eastern harbour wall. Its the site with the least amount of fish, which means you just have to work harder to see stuff!

This weekend was pretty awesome. On saturday about 15 of us hiked an hour to this beautiful beach where we could jump of the cliffs into the sea, and then in the evening we went out to some local bars. On sunday I had to get up extra early to do fisheries, so had 3 hours sleep... so spent the afternoon sleeping on a sun bed! About 5ish a friend from the hotel arrived with her greek friends who drove us really far around the island, then stopped and we changed into a jeep to go down a dirt track to one of the most beautiful beaches i have ever been. We then went to a greek restaurant and I had some samos wine- which tastes like honey basically!

So I better get back to doing some work,
