Ao Nang was one of our favorite places, we had such a good week here! Spent time on the beach, water wasnt quite as clear as the islands but it was still lovely and as warm as a bath. We had dinner in a cool restaurant, i spotted 'Stir Fried Young Kate' so had to order it! Turns out i think it was meant to say 'Kale' on the menu... i will miss all the Thai spelling mistakes!
We spent an afternoon at a cookery class with Mrs Ya- she is so much fun! And me being me- hating cooking, i actually enjoyed it much more than i thought. We learnt how to cook Phad Thai, Green Curry, Red Curry, Penang Curry, Tom Yam soup and Papya Salad. I have the recipees so MIGHT attempt this when i get home!
TATTOO! So Claire and I got a matching tattoo of a palm tree, mine is on my hip and CLaire's on her back. We love them! Travelling adventure will stay with us forever- sorry parents! (But not really!) We chose to get it done in the Bamboo method- traditional Thai way of tattooing where they use needles attached to a piece of bamboo. It's better than the ink machin way because it means you can go in the sea the next day and don't have to keep it covered. Happy girlies :)
We then had a couple god nights out (which unfortunately resulted in a hungover pizza option the next day costing 8 pounds- expensive when we usually spend about 2 on meals! oops).
We did a day trip to the Phi Phi islands and got to see the beach where they filmed 'The Beach' (Maya Bay). it was very busy but so good to see it! and nice to be somewhere Leonardo Dicaprio has been!
We also went white water rafting!! so much fun!! will definitely do it again if i can afford it. Later in the day we visited a waterfall and if you wanted you could jump from the top- i was the only one to jump! Managed to catch it on camera so there is proof- apart from the muddy water it was brilliant!
Ao Nang- we love you!
Lots of love xxx
