There were tons of people waiting on the jetty when we got off the boat in Iquitos. People were sticking their heads in the windows asking if we wanted this hostel or that tour. There were even kids running onto the boat to help with the luggage wanting a tip. We grabbed our luggage and got away from the crowds to get a taxi. The mototaxis are really funny, like rickshaws, the taxi drivers were even fighting over us! When we got a taxi, suprise suprise the hostel we wanted was full so the taxi driver took us to a hotel of his choice, and of course, there was his mate trying to sell us a tour!
Iquitos is a really nice place and we had a good feeling about Peru. It´s also alot cheaper than Brazil!! We had a nice meal before calling it a day and catching up on lost sleep!
On Thursday morning (1st Nov) we booked a flight to Lima for the same night. It would have been nice to stay in Iquitos for longer but we have to get to Cuzco for the 3rd! We checked out of the hotel shorly before 12pm and spent the rest of the day in Iquitos before heading to the airport at 4pm. The flight was really nice and only took just over 1 hour. At around 8pm we arrived in Lima. We went straight to see about anoher flight to Cuzco. (Flights to Cuzco only go in the mornings because of the altitude). From there we had to decide to either stay in Lima or stay in the airport and get an early morning flight to Cuzco. For money and time reasons, we decided to stay in the airport; we had heard from a few people that Lima wasn´t really that great anyway.
