Hahei, The Coromandel Peninsula
It didn't take too long to drive from Auckland to the Coromandel peninsula. We headed to the East Coast first and the first stop was a small place called Hahei near hot water beach. When the tide is low on hot water beach you can dig a hole and make a thermal pool from the hot springs below. On the day we arrived, the tide was due to come in later on at night so we decided to return later and went to find a campsite. Once we were set up Neil and i went for a walk to a beach called Cathedral cove while Rach stayed on the beach. The walk was about two hours return and was really nice through the forest and the beach. Cathedral cove was also very pretty but on the way back home it started to RAIN! The rain was really heavy and so we decided against going to hot water beach and to come back later. At this rate we'll have seen the whole of Newzealand with the intention to return everywhere when the weather is better!!
