This morning (Thurs 11th) we left Rio, much to my dissapointment, and headed south towards Ilha Grande (Big Island). We have really enjoyed staying in Rio, there is a really nice feel to the city and it is so pretty but we have to move on if we are to make it to Belem by the 18th. Had a bit of a beach day yeaturday (tues 9th) so no events to tell you all of, other than the annoying sales people on the beach trying to sell you everything from chunks of pinapple to handmade jewelery! They literally are everywhere! In the evening we went out for a meal with about 6 others from the hostel...one of them a business man who took us to this REALLY expensive restaurant, and then when the bill came it was the usual ´it would make it alot easier...

We have just arrived back after three good, but hot and sweaty days in the Pantanal! We left the hostel in Campo Grande at 11.30am on Sunday morning in a small mini bus that was to be our transportation for the next 4 hours. At about 4pm we arrived at the lodge and we were told that we´d have to wait about 1/2 hour before we would be taken to the camp (we could choose whether we wanted to sleep in a bed at the lodge or in hammocks at the camp-we chose hammocks, ...
