When we arrived in Bali, we headed back to Ubud for four more days of art, culture and shopping. This time, we found cheaper accommodation but it didn't disappoint! Ubud Terrace is situated on the main street in Ubud, right near the infamous monkey forest. The rooms are traditionally Balinese and there was a lovely pool for when it got too hot to explore. When I wsoke in the morning, the monkeys from the local forest would be playing in front of our porch - an incredible sight s sometimes as many as 10 monkeys would be about! On our first evening back in Ubud, we met up with some friends and enjoyed dinner then cocktails and a reggae band. The next morning, we hired a scooter for two days which allowed us to easily explore the area, visiting local villages where crafstmen and silversmiths worked. It was difficult to refrain from buying too much! We dined at more of Ubud's amazing cafes, relaxed by our pool, enjoyed the fabulous views in the countryside and shopped. It was a fantastic four days and we were very pleased we returned.
