Hi!

We are currently in Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast. carving out a temporary career as Strawberry pickers!!

We arrived at our hostel and started the next morning bright and early. Two vans full of us from the hostel leave every morning at about 6:45 to Twist Brothers Strawberry farm in a place called Chevallum just outside maroochydore. Its really hard work we either pick or prune for up to 8 hours day. When we first started the man in charge was really bossy so we call him Sergeant Strawberry but hes ok now we have been there while! Its quite hard on the back and legs but we are used to it now. Its keeping us fit and we are out in the sun all day. Occasionally it rains, about 3 times so far, although when it does rain it really rains! We still have to carry on in it though, they give us these bright yellow rain macs 'one size fits all' so Andy can just about get his arms in it and i could fit about 3 of me in it!

Aside from picking Strawberries, on our days off we usually explore the other towns nearby, go to the beach here or just go to the one pub which is actually a British pub and most of the staff tease Andy about english rugby as they are scottish and irish mainly. We have also been to see Shrek 3 which we both enjoyed!

We are planning to work up until the first week of July and then go to Fraser Island on a 3 day trip for my Birthday. Andy wants to go back to Australia Zoo for his birthday as we are not far at all from it now!
