A Big welcome from Jasper...
Jasper is surrounded by mountans, Whistlers mountain, Mount Robson, Columbia Icefields which ever way you look it's mountains
Arrived in Jasper around 18.00pm yesterday (time diff now only 7 hours as we have now moved to Pacific Mountian time), just enough time to walk round the town & decide what to do today
Up early today, breakfast at Lou Lou's then onto the cable car stop at the bottom of Whistlers mountain.
It took 7 minutes to get to the top on the Jasper Tramway, my knees were wobbling on this one!!! Couldn't wait to get off, we then set off for a walk to the top of the moutain, I managed half way & then made the mistake of turning round to look down the mountian... Eeeks!!! Lynn managed to get to the top, well done girl
Midday and we're back down phew! Managed to persuade the shuttle driver to drop us off at the Fairmont Hotel in Jasper Creek, fantastic hotel, beautiful site overlooking the beautiful Lake Beauvert, such a wonderful blue colour, stayed for a cuppa then off on our hike round the lake then followed the trail for the Old Fort summit, fantastic views of the Athabasca river, Jasper & the mountain ranges. On the look out for grizzlies but none were spotted today
On our way back to town it started to rain, this is the worse day we have had for weather but it didn't really spoil anything, arrived back in town dripping wet!!!
Time for coffee and a spot of shopping, pressies for my boys... Beau, Bailey & Robey :-)
Found a really good deli & bought sandwiches ready for out trip to the Columbia Icefields, Lake Moraine & Lake Louise tomorrow......
