Where to start today... well up early again for our trip to Banff from Jasper, with plenty of stops along the way
First stop the Athabasca Falls, lots more photos! Then Onto TheColumbia Icefield, saw some fantastic scenery along the way as well as grizzly bears & big horn sheep
We transferred onto the special ice explorer buses, they have massive tyres - 5ft x 3ft & travel along the glacier, surrounded by the snow top mountians, the glacier is a beautiful ice blue colour, it freezing up there, some quick photos & we're back on the explorer
Then we're off down the Icefield Parkway stopping off at the amazing blue Peyto Lake, more photos, then onto Bow Lake, at this point it started raining (the first of the holiday) still got some photos on though, then onto the much awaited Lake Louise (the jewel in the crown of the Canadian Rockies), pulled up in front of The Fairmont Chateau right on the shore of the lake, stunning, just undergone a £65,000,000 refurb, probably needed it as it's been open since 1890! Still raining but spirits not dampened as we ran down to the lake for photos for Lou!!!
Next down the Bow Valley Parkway to Banff and a much needed rest, we've just been out for dinner and am now in a cafe updating this blog
Tune in tomorrow for our trip up Sulphur mountian via the Banff gondola...

Andy M Well suppose its about time I went round to let Muffin out of 11A He must be getting hungry now ;-) Snowmobile looks good. All that ice needs further essential ingredients. Bombay sapphire, Schweppes and a slice of lemming
Chris That lake colour is something else, scenery is all marvellous. Will look at locations on map to keep up with your travels - thanks for more good pics, Chris
