We arrived at Byron Bay quite late, so just nipped to the shops to get some milk (Nat and i couldn't actually survive without it) and then relaxed at the YHA hostel.
The next morning we were up fairly early to make the most of our day there, and wandered around the shops before making our way across the lovely beach to the walking track that led up to the lighthouse. It was a really steep track, and it was possibly the hottest day we'd had in Australia! But even before we reached the lighthouse there was a great lookout at Australia's most easterly point, where we could see humpback whales and dolphins out in the sea. We then continued up to the lighthouse and on our way back though the forest we saw an echidna in the wild! Back in the town we just relaxed before our night bus to Sydney at 8pm, and watched Iron Man at the hostel, which was ok. On the bus we saw a film called 'The Ultimate Gift' which was a bit cheesy but actually quite good, and then stretched out on the seats to get some sleep.
Nush here: well After id left Brisbane i had a pleasantly short journey down to Byron, however the weather here wasnt quite so pleasant and i was on my own at this point, so i checked my slef into a hostel and went for a walk about the town. It was a lovely little beachside town with a nice buzzing atmosphere, i was wishing i had longer to stay there. That evenin i booked myself into do some kayaking with dolphins and hangliding the day after! I went to make myself some food and started chattin to some Brits in the kitchen and pretty soon had made friends. We all got some wine together and headed down to the local club to check out the night life. the next day i went to do my kayaking, we unfortunately didnt see any dolphins but we did go surfing with the kayaks which was great fun. But my hangliding got cancelled due to bad weather :( We had a relaxing night that night as i had to get the over night bus the next day to Sydney....
