Ryan & Kasia's Travels
Great cover Picture!!!
Well it's been awhile. Didn't have good internet connection to download pics. I'll try to recap the last week. We left last Thursday to Torun with Kasia's auntie and uncle driving us. We stayed at Kasia's mom's sister's daughter's place.A.K.A kasia's cousin Ania. Awesome place. Her and her husband Wojtek and son Jasiu were the bomb. Their in their early 30's and he owns his own Veterinarian practice and she's some kind of Denturist. She is also 9 months pregnant. They let us do whatever we felt like doing. The first night we chilled and talked, then the next day we slept in then went sight seeing for a bout 2 hrs. We then went out for supper at this cool little restaurant on the Wisla(the 1047km long river than runs from the mountains in the south to the baltic sea up north). After supper we went to see the "KOD DAVINCI". It was good but I think the book was better. We then went home and drank some beer. The next day was cool. They actually let us borrow their 5 speed 1.3L Ford Fiesta to take up north to the Baltic Sea. The highways in Poland are insane. 2 lanes of traffic but the people drive 3 cars wide. Meaning they pass on the centerline and expect oncoming traffic to move. I drove on the shoulder the whole way. We were terrified at first but got used to it quickly. We went to Gdansk and sopot and walked on the boardwalk called the Molo which is on the baltic sea. It was awesome and we collected some sea shells for Brad on the sandy beach. We took lots of pics but I think I deleted them from our memory stick when I was attempting to download onto the computer but their saved on Ania's computer so their going to burn them and send them home so you'll have to see later. On our way home we stopped at a little town called Malbork to see their famous castle which is bigger than anything I have ever seen. It's huge, these pics will also come later except a few that we downloaded. We then went home and drank some more beer.
The next day we went to look at some art galeries during the day and at night we went to see some more of Kasia's mom's family on the farm. It was an interesting experience to say the least. On Monday Ania and Jasia and the rest of the family bought us 4 paintings-their super nice. We then said goodbye and took a train back to Warsaw.
We spent the next 2 days with Babcia, Bozena and Stasiek, eating and drinking beer. It was good to spend more time with them. We then hopped on another train to Krakow on Wednesday and that is where we are now. We found our hostel by foot quite easily. We like it.
I just weighed myself yesterday and discovered that all the fabulous food and beer cost me 12 lbs. Wow, this is as heavy as I have ever been. It was worth it though. Kasia remains however at a very healthy weight. We have big plans for the next 4 days here in Krakow and we will update more often now. Hope everyone is good and we're still following the Oilers and we can't believe them. I actually got to watch game 2 at Ania's and Wojtek's on their satellite.
Gotta go. Love y'all!!!
