I am having a terrible time trying to update from the WIP internet cafe in Yokohama. One whole entry is lost. I will have to try to enter it later. Earlier this week, in my notebook I made a list of things we ate on Thursday in Asakusa:
fried anko mochi covered with green tea powder and fried--improbable sounding, but delicious (for example)
or fresh o-sembei, just off the grill
or jelly like things on a stick with soft brown powder on them
or oden, the stew, with daikon and 5 kinds of fish cake, that Laura found across the street from the taishuu engeki theater, Mokuba-kan
or a "German dog" at Doutor coffee shop
cassis gelato from an ice cream shop called ITARIA no GERATOya
The rain poured down on Thursday, the first real rainy-season rain that we've seen here, and softly enjoyable in its way. Our three umbrellas, blue, purple, and silver, go with us everywhere, dripping.
