I'm writing from Narita Airport Terminal number 2, Starbucks. We're on our way home; and Laura is sad. I'm sad, too, but relieved that we've arrived safely here, with our mountains of luggage and that we're on time. Chad is a bit under the weather. I can't find my "Airborne;" so we bought him…
Some years ago I heard the Mayor of Yokohama say that, though it takes 3 generations to make an Edokko, it takes only 3 days to make a Hamakko. Since we lived there 3 years, it seems that we qualify.
My daughter and I think of Yokohama as our furusato in Japan. And now we're going back on June 17th, 2007, to see friends, classmates, and especially "my mother in Japan," Honda O-kaa-san.

Hi everybody. It's so much fun to get your account of your travels. It does seem amazing that one would have trouble finding wifi in Japan! The weather here is probably much like Japan - hot and humid. But we have had powerful thunderstorms in the last 2 days, which have been loud and flashy. More later.

your sankei-en adventure is bringing it all back to me - AND the ume-shu jeri reminds me that I have a bottle of umeshu in the fridge ( purchased form a Chinese grocery store in the city) and I will go home tonight and salute you with it! if you get a chance to go to the Yokohama Union Church please send my regards and give me a report - it's a new building - and I understand my lovely old place opposite is no more ,,,,,,,,,,,
