HI all so we are now back in Taupo after our trip around the south island.
I will continue from the West Coast, we arrived in Queenstown the party capital of New Zealand it was amazing. We met up with our Greymouth friends and had some good nights. It was not all partying tho we did our Hot Air balloon ride which was amazing and the photos are great to. We then tried to get to milford sound but failed misserable as we drove into a snow blizzard the snow was ankle if not higher deep. In town people were snow boarding and skiing into town which was an experience to see. We also played frisbi golf in the snow to threw queenstown park which was a laugh. A couple of good nights had and a bit to eat at the famous Fergberger, met some Ozzie snowboarders which was a laugh.
Finally got to Milford sound but a 3 day trip was extended to 8 days as for 2 of them no traffic was coming in or out of Queenstown. The trip to milford was hard 5 hours there and then 5 hours back and hour and half on the water cruise. It was pretty but it certainly wasnt the best scenery in New Zealand and shouldnt be used as the main feature of NZ.
Then next was to Dunedin the supposed Edinburgh of NZ this was not true it was just a busy city with a bit of gothic art deco buildings and one scottish shop. However over all it was a good expeience the hostel was nice and we went to watch ice hockey which was an experience NZ v Australia. We also walked up th steepest road in the world after walking there for over an hour. We went to Cadbury world the free chocolate was great but the tour was not what it was cracked up to be. Then we went to another brewery Speights brewery the free beer was good and we got our photo printed on beer labels which was great fun, kurt was concentrating so much on the photo that he spilt the beer when pouring.
Next it was to Christchurch for a night just a quick stop over the hostel was nice and close to the bus stop.
Then we went threw Blenheim on the way to Nelson. Nelson was a beautiful harbour city really geared up for the rugby. The backpackers was great it had a pool, spa but you could not take advantage of it as it was full of school kids on a tour not so great lol. We spent the day on the Abel Tasman sea kayaked to an island which was amazing sea lions around us and threw amazing secluded islands. Then gotta eaten alive by sand flied before the 11.6KM trek back to the taxt ride home. We have always said we are not trekkers but it is turning out this way. The scenery was by far the best in NZ.
Then threw blenheim again cant get away from that place to catch the ferry from Picton to Wellington. The hostel was great we went to Te Pappa museum which was great and then the mount summit victoria walk which showed the best view of wellington. We then met Soap for a few drinks before bed.
Next it was our long trip back to Taupo on seperated buses i may add, no argument to have but couldnt get on the same bus. Now we are back in Taupo chilling here till the 8th september before the game on the 9th.
We can go on skype whenever now so just facebook or skype us love to you all mxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
