We took the fast train from Xi'an to Beijing. It was really nice to see the countryside and to catch up with the other administrators from Oregon. We had lots of stories to share about our stays with our Chinese partners. We all had incredible experiences.
Once we got to Beijing, we headed out to check out the legendary food stalls. There were scorpions and lots of other interesting things to eat..
A few of us got up early the next morning, 4:30am, to see the raising of the flag in Tian'anmen Square. The flag was raised at sunrise at 5:50am. It was phenomenal to be there with 200,000 other people for this daily event:)
My best photos from this are on my phone, I will upload those later.
We then headed out as a whole group to the Great Wall. Words cannot adequately convey its immensity and the history of its construction. This was definitely one of the highlights of my trip.
