So it has been a while since updating blog and man oh man so much has happened! So from where I left of last day in London we went and did the London Eye was such amazing view of London. While we were at the top looking at Buckingham we could see the Queen's birthday celebration happening. On the way to Westminster Abbey we got a waffle with fresh cream, strawberries and chocolate amazing, eating that with Big Ben behind us was lovely. We went to Westminster Abbey and it was lovely amazing place to have a wedding it would have been amazing to attend Will and Kate wedding. The building has so much history and is just amazing. If it's one thing i have learned about Europe is the history behind everything!
So Georgia and I after Westminster Abbey went back to the backpackers and got our stuff and change accommodation to the Royal National Hotel as that is the starting point of Contiki. When Georgia and I got to the hotel we were so happy to have a better bathroom! (we are such girls)We had a meeting with the contiki people and got told who our tour manager was and what was happening the next day :)
So Sunday 12th of June we had a 5am start as we had to be downstairs ready for our bag to be weighed at 6am. Our suitcases could only be 20kg but the bag that we took on the bus did get checked so Georgia and I put as much stuff in our hand luggage as we could my bag checked in at 18.8kg so my hand luggage weighed at least 4 or 5kg...
Anywho we got on the bus and started to mingle with people slowly. Roxy is our tour Manager and our bus driver is Lazzlo they are both really fun and nice people, Roxy is full of energy and so much knowledge. So we played a game of speed dating on the bus to help everyone get to know one and other.
Everyone is really nice most from Australia but we also have people from South Africa, Canada & USA. Mostly girls on the trip, but in most of the places we go there are two other group there also which is good as we get to meet more people. We got a ferry from Dover, England to France. Oh on the ferry I keep seeing a guy that I thought I knew from and I was telling Georgia and then she pointed at him and then we starting work out that he is from Merewether, went to the same high school which meant we caught the same bus to school his name is Troy it is so funny.
Once we arrived in France we drove to Paris which took a while, so I slept on the bus every now and then. We had a lowly welcome to Paris when we arrived out the front of our hotel.... Not! There was a black walking down the street give us the fingers and then he stopped and went to the toilet on the road, everyone was shocked buy could and laugh as we were like did this just happen! The hotel we stayed at in Paris was about 20 - 30 mins out of the city centre. The hotel was nice really modern inside, the shower were really cool as the shower head was a disco lights, when the water was hot it would go red and we cold it would got blue but it also changed other colour in between!
The first night in Paris we went for a night time tour of the beautiful city so everyone could get an idea of where things were and what they wanted to see as the next day was our free day!
Once we got back from the tour half of the group went to the bar next door to the hotel and had a few drinks and got to know one another more and first chance everyone had to chill out and be themselves really.
The people are so much fun, I am in Barcelona at the moment and here for two days will update more of the blog later as we are getting ready to go out but i still have 3 days to catch you guys up on and will do!!!
Love you lots xoxoxox
