Hey everyone, welcome to lucky day 13. Got up at about 7 as had to be ready at 9 to be picked up by the transfer bus to get the fast ferry to Rottnest Island. Rottnest or Rotto as it's locally known is situated 18 kilometres off the coast of Perth. It is called Wadjemup by the Noongar people, meaning "place across the water". Hey guys, It's a hot one today, hottest day so far, 32 degrees. Clear blue sky and gorgeous. Sorry to hear that your clocks go back tonight and you're plunged into darkness and winter. Got up and had breakfast. The cooking facilities on the van are great but you don't have much space so you have to be very organised to do everything. I've got 2 gas burners, a gas grill, a microwave, a fridge and a little sink with water pump. What more could you ask for. As usual...

Didn't have a particularly comfortable night. Being very tired I think I had made up the bed wrong and got the wrong sleeping bag out and left a window open (it does still get cold here at night at this time of year). Hitting the road today, albeit not far but still hitting the road. Got up early to pack away all my stuff that is strewn across the 3 rooms of the apartment (Jay you will be very proud of me as I have been living in a mess, the new way!). Got a phone call this morning from DHL to say my parcel was at Perth CDC but they didn't know where it was. They said they'd call me back, they didn't so I checked online and found out where it was. The Central Delivery Centre (CDC) was on Stirling Street, just a 10 minute walk away, so I set off not feeling hopeful to b honest, to check if they were indeed there.
