Happiness Is The Road
I got up fairly late today and only had time to do my dishes from last night and have a shower before 10 when camp sites usually have to be vacated. I drove to the Port Lincoln foreshore and had my breakfast there, a grapefruit, yummy porridge and toast. I didn’t fancy doing much today so I didn’t. I drove for about 2 hours to a camp just outside Cowell. I stopped at a place called Arno Bay , a tuna fishing town on the way. The Harbour View Caravan Park was excellent. It was quiet and quirky and I could choose my own spot. The site is full of tatty old cabins and caravans and is ace. It was very clean and the shower was excellent, could just scrape the shower top 5! It was a family run site and I generally find these to be the friendliest and cleanest. I chose a spot near the edge with a good sea view and just relaxed for the day. I never forget how lucky I am to be living this idyllic lifestyle, it’s a nomadic existence and I love it. I was thinking today that If I was back in the UK I’d probably still be at Parcel Force and would be stressed beyond belief with the mad Christmas rush. I’m so glad I’m not delivering parcels anymore. I don’t think that I could have coped with another Christmas. Christmas is more stress than enjoyment. All the rush to buy presents for people and send cards and buy all the food and go on stupid pointless ****** work Christmas parties. All that build up is **** and just for one day. All that panic and stress just for one day! The debt some people get into for just one day! Then there’s all the wasted food and all the presents that people didn’t want. It’s all a waste of energy and money. The problem is that you can’t really opt out as everyone then thinks you’re a miserable *******. That’s the sheep policing the sheep. I think Christmas should just be for the kids, that’d be far better. As for the religious side to Christmas as with everything I’ll keep an open mind that the Christmas nativity story could be true, it’s possible, but more likely it’s a work of fiction. Religion I believe is just mind control . And on that thought it’s nite nite till tomorrow.
By the way I've found out what the beautiful pink breasted parrot type birds are called. They are Galah's. I always wondered what Alf Stewart was going on about in Home & Away when he'd say to someone 'you great Galah'!
