Leaving Diamantina national park this morning we headed for Boulia. Tiny little town with a population of 250, according to the old guy at the pub!
Once we got to Boulia we headed to the caravan park after loosing all our water on the way due to a rock bouncing up and hitting and elbow that connected the hose to the tank. Was looking forward to camping by Burke river but after loosing water we had to feel it up somewhere. We set up, had lunch and headed into to town to look at the hardware for something to fix the water tank. Once we had done that we grabbed a few things at the supermarket and headed to the stone house museum. It was a very interesting place and a lovely lady named Del took us through and explained everything from the house to the dinosaur fossils. Once we had finished there we went and watched the min min encounter and went to the pub for a beer. We also went and fueled up, with diesel being $1.75 a litre and then had a look at the free campsite and took a little drive through the Burke river, which is almost empty as Boulia is in drought and has only had 30ml of rain in the past year.
