When we arrived in Vang Vieng yesterday afternoon, we checked into our hostel not knowing what to expect. Our beds are covered with mosquito nets and our rooms have no walls. I couldn't feel more comfortable! When the sun went down the town began to party. Enjoying some local beerlao and playing jenga, we found ourselves shooting some pool at a local pub. Our second day here we went tubing down the river, stopping at river side bars along the way, rope swinging and enjoying free shots of laolao. We ended our night hanging out with the C.U.E Crew, having dinner and drowning ourselves in beer. The following morning was very slow to get started for obvious reasons, and after breakfast we hired bicycles and headed for the blue lagoon. A clear fresh water river and an atmosphere for a relaxing day. Along with the river there was a giant cave located in the side of the mountain, but without flashlights we were not able to explore its depths. Ending off the day with a long muddy bike ride back to the town, we bought dinner and climbed up into our tree house bunks for some shuteye. Day three we went back to the river bars and played volleyball, Americans versus the Canadians. Victory tastes good! A full day of drinking, swinging and partying and when we headed back to the hostel Momma Lao had prepared a barbeque for us, Laotian style! Pairing up with Chris, Caitlin, John, Kayleigh, Alex and Lauren (friends we met on the slow boat into Laos), we get on a overcrowded bus headed to Nha Trang, Vietnam. Thirty six hour bus ride, here we come!
