Today the weather has cracked up with a lot of wind and clouds so a bit of a relaxing day today and hopefully trekking tommorrow. I managed to get a little bit of Internet at a cafe and then went to visit Matilde at her work where we chatted and she showed me around her lodge. I then made my way back to the house for a late lunch and played some cards with Hernan. I learned a very typical Argentinian card game called Truca (translation - Tricks), it was quite difficult to learn but once I had the basics I could play and ended up winning all the games - strange for me as I am usually not very good at cards. Later in the afternoon we walked into town and met some Argentinian guys travelling from Ushuaia to Alaska in their old decked out VW wagon. It was really interesting talking with them and seeing how they make money whilst they travel North towards Alaska; making handicrafts like incense, bracelets, art pieces and performing. The guys had made over $250 today and so were going to take the next few days off and enjoy their night out tonight which symbolizes Argentinian culture: work just enough to enjoy life's little pleasures. After saying goodbye to our new Argentinian friends we walked to the outskirts of town where we had heard about a couple of lookouts. After finding out some info we decided to make the trek up the hill to the Condor lookout and what a site it was with the whole town wedged in the valley and as a backdrop the Fitz Roy Mountains. The wind was incredibly strong and with it brought freezing air but we battled it out as the scenery was too good simply to glimpse at. The walk down was cold and it was a relief to get back to the house and to a warm meal and hot shower. Tonight was the lastnight of the summer festival and there was a typical Guacho band playing so after chatting with the girls a bit we all decided to go and check it out. It took nearly an hour and a half for everyone to get ready but eventually we were all ready and headed down to the Gimnasio. It turns out the main act and famous singer had not even started yet so the girls decided we should go to the wine bar for a glass of wine. The wine bar was very nice but I didn't feel like drinking and by 12:30am I was almost asleep as everyone was speaking Spanish and I could not understand a word. We finally made our way back to the gym and luckily the band was just about to start. The gym was crowded with people from all over Argentina, young and old and everything else in between. The music was quite good and the people absolutely loved the singer, singing all the words, clapping along and in the back couples started to dance. By 1:30am I was over it and being bumped into by drunk people constantly for the last hour had taken its toll so I headed back to the house.
