Joey & Rachie's Travels 2006
Hey all!
How is everyone doing? Thanks for your messages, It's been great to hear from you.
Sorry for the delay in updating this journal! Pictures will be posted shortly! Can't update our pics easily from the Cook Islands.
Had a really great time in Boston, although the four days did fly by! On our first morning we watched the football, (I Know....but It had to be done!) at a bar near the hostel, with an English girl, Laura, who was in our dorm. Hmmm, enough said about that! We also watched it in a bar which was full of Portuguise, so we mad a pretty quick exit when it finished!!
That afternoon, we took the subway into Boston and went to Boston Common. Really nice place. We then went on a tour called the 'Freedom Trail', which took us around Boston Common and to other significant spots related to Independence day. Our guide soon realised that we were English and kept making fun of us!! afterall, the freedom trail is all about them gaining indedepndence from English Rule so I suppose it was funny us being on the tour!!!
That afternoon, we randomly meet three girls on the subway. One of the girls, Maria, was staying at our hostel. They were really nice, so we decided to take a 'Duck tour' with them around Boston.
The 'Duck Tour' vehicle is a car/boat that takes you on land and drives through the River Charles on the tour. This is a famous tour in Boston. The five of us had a really good time, and after the tour we went and had dinner together.
On the Monday, we went Whale watching. This was great!. The Whale's came right up to the boat. Unfortunately, from looking at my camera, I can see that the pics haven't really captured the Whales as well as I anticapted, (Needed your photgraphy skills Natalie, Hannah!!). There are a few that are ok, so I will be posting them on the site soon!!!
In the afternoon, We went on a tour around Harvard University. Had to be done! It is unbelievable, the grounds are so attractive and the halls of residents are so grand. It's really strange as Tours around the University happen everyday, Must be weird if you actually go to uni there and you have Tourists wondering around all the time! I'm sure If I had applied to Harvard, they would have accepted me..maybe not!!!
That's about it for Boston. Meet some really nice people and went on some Fab tours.
It's a beautiful city well worth a visit.
That's all for now...
will be updating soon
Jo
