Joey & Rachie's Travels 2006
Hey everybody!!
Here is part two of my Journal. Thank you all for keeping me updated with your gossip back home, it's great to here how everyone is getting on!! I miss you all lots.
First of all, can I just thank John, Anne and Ashley for a fantastic stay in Canada. Rachel and I had a Brilliant time.
On our first day, John and Anne took us to Orangeville, the local town. We also drove to a few 'Men and Night' Towns. 'Men at Night' farms are run by people who choose not to live with modern amenities. Their transport is by horse and cart, and they mostly dress in black and wear old fashioned clothing from the 18th century. It was really fasciniating. Even the supermarkets cater for the religion and have horse and cart spaces, It's really Bizarre!!!
That afternoon, we also visited a Peanut factory.....Hmmm Yummy. But peeps, this was not an ordinary peanut shop. They had every flavour possible and you could try each peanut. Rach and I loved the tommy sauce flavour....Delicious!!! That evening, we had a relax in their hot tub in the backgarden.....we are travelling guys honest!?!?
On the Thursday, John and Anne took us into Toronto. Toronto is a really cool city with so much to see and do. We took a trip up the CN Tower. The views from the top were amazing. I was also brave enough, even though I'm not that keen on heights, to lie on the glass roof and have my picture taken. It was very scary though!!!
In the afternoon, we took a tour around the Skydome which is now known as the Rogers Dome. It is Huge!!! It puts St Marys to shame!! The stadium is home to the Blue Jays, The Toronto team. It was really cool looking around the Stadium. We even went into the Managers room and had pics taken at his desk. It was very fun!!
On the firday, we visited Niagra Falls. There is so much to do at the park. We took a boat ride called 'Maid of the Mist' which takes you right into the Heart of the falls. The sound of the falls is so intense and you do get quite wet. Well worth it though!!
On the Saturday, we went to a family BBQ. It was really fun meeting the rest of John and Anne's family. Although, funny thing is, the drinks out here are little more powerfull than home. Bottled vodka drinks are 7% in Canada so it is easy to feel a little tiddley!!!I think Rach and I did feel a little tiddley that afternoon...hehe. It was a really great day and It was so much fun to relax with a BBQ on a hot afternoon.
On the Sunday, John took us to a beach town on the Lake Ontario called....wait for it...SOUTHAMPTON!!! Yes guys, I came all the way to Canada to go to Southampton!!hehe. It's not quite the same as England's Southampton as It's a very idealic beach town. Rach and I just had to have our pictures taken by the Southampton sign....Well it's got to be done hasn't it?!
Towards the end of our stay, we went to see Pirates of the Carribean 2 with Ashley. It's a very good film, well recomend it. We also went to the most fancy Macdonalds I have ever seen. It had Leather sofas and fire places...I know your thinking....What in Macdonalds!!!. Believe it peeps, it was so strange. I had to take a picture because I couldn't believe it myself.
I had a fantastic stay in Canda, It was alot of fun and we visited so much.
Thank you again John, Anne and Ashley for being Brillaint tour guides...hehe!!
I miss you all so much
Take care all of you
I will write an update from the Cook Islands soon
Love to you all
Joey
