unfortunatley, as we enter florence, the value of the u.s. dollar seems to be going straight down the s***ter. so all of you back home hoping for souveniers, dont hold your breath.
we have been in florence for two days now, and it has been raining the whole time. the rain didnt bother us to much the first two nights because mikes mom offered to put us up in a hotel. thanks so much ms. green, it was amazing. the past two days were the only days of the whole trip where we have gotten up for breakfast. we still have been doing alot of sightseeing and walking, but it just sucks with the rain.
the next two days in florence will not be quite as luxurious. we are staying at a camp ground, like we did are last night in venice. the campgrounds are actually pretty nice though. they are close to town, have a bar, and market, and are cheaper than hostels. this one we are staying at in florence is right near piazza michealangelo, which is about a 15 minute walk from everything in florence. we are staying in a tent, but its not on the ground and much better than i expected. i still really hopes it stops raining, but i do think our tent will keep us dry.
the reason we stayed at a camp ground in the first place was that we got to venice with nowhere to stay, and this camp ground outside of town was the only place that had room for us. it turned out to be a good thing we stayed outside of venice, because the day we left was when it started raining, and the city was really flooded.
i gotta run because my internet time is running out. justin
