Penzance is very beautiful. We have had great weather. Yesterday we went on the most narrow roads I have ever seen to the little towns of Mousehole, St. Just, Sennen and Lands End. It's an awakening to see large sandy beaches in England. We froliced on the beach in our coats and hats and scarves and mitties. Had Cornish Cream tea in a cafe on the water. That's clotted cream, scones, jam and tea for two.
Today we are going to head up to Bath and go to the Christmas festival there.
Hey, you guys, what are we wearing to concert? Let's "dress", for the occasion since we won't be having a dressy Christmas party this year. okay??

Well, I don't know what happened to Twiddledumd's message, but it was lovely to get two just the same.
I think the messages don't post immediately. I'm not sure why.
Sounds like everyone had a good Thanksgiving.
Nancy, you wanna talk goats???? In Greek Isles, you have to drive with your reflexes on high. Everytime you go around a curve there's a herd of goats relaxing, sleeping, loitering or sighseeing in the middle of the road. I's all free range and they are abundant. We took pictures so you can show your goats what a Greek goat's life is like.
We are in Bodmin, England, the sister city of Grass Valley. Bodmin looks alot like Grass Valley before it got it's face lift. It is still a working town with local stores and no tourist shops yet. I only saw one place that sells pasties. I just met a man who is the owner of the dry cleaner here and his Mum's Dad went to Grass Valley to work in the mines. We had to drive through the Moors to get here.OOOOOH, think about the beginning of the movie, Warewolf in London. It's a strange place. There is no internet cafe in Bodmin. We are at athe library, the only place with internet access. Our plan is to go to Penzance today and get to know some of the locals there so we can talk about Nevada City with them then head up north to Hinckley to visit the Triumph factory and check out the Hinkleys in my family. Then back to London and a flight to the Canary Islands for 7 days and then home.
We'll sty to check in again from Penzance. I hear it is a small town with very narrow streets climbing up and down the hillls. I can't wait to tell them that Nevada City looks the same and I used to drive the bus on the narrow streets. That should make me "unforgetable" in their eyes!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to you. We are going to Jeff and Laura's for the day. Really looking forward to it. Well, our little nanny, Briella had her babies and all went very well. They are abosolutely perfect. A buck and a doe. It broke my heart, but took her to a a breeder in Foresthill who is the local midwife for Pygmies for her delivery. She will stay there for awhile longer. Wasn't taking any chances as with the LuLu. These babies are the sweetest things. Very alert too. They jump right up after birth and begin exploring and butting around. They weigh about 3# each and are the same height as Sparky. They are criminally cute. I am thinking about "Bonnie and Clyde" for names. We have much to be thankful for this year. We will think of you guys and give a toast in your honor.
Sharon
Good to hear from you guys and I'm sure everyone else on the web site is wondering what the heck yo were talking about, Adam and Li.
I see by the little calander on the wall that this is the Thanksgiving week. We had forgotten about it. Actually, I'm glad to report that they don't celebrate anything like that here because I'm sure every meat market in every city would have both dead and live turkeys hanging on hooks somewhere in the store and I already have to look the other way and concentrate on remembering all the words to Mary Had A Little Lamb when I am in the area of the markets.
We spent three days on Santorini. It is incredibly beautiful. We had a villa on the cliff overlooking the Agean Sea. It rained and stormed so hard that it stopped the ferries from running and some folks were forced to stay on the ferry because it could not dock. We were warm and cozy in our villa. It did force us to trun in the rented scooter on a car so we could still travel around the island. We arrived yesterday in Crete. It is raining and colder than s***. There is snow on the mountains. Today we visited the museums and the stores that sell warm clothes. Tomorrow we will go see the ruins of a Minoan town that is 5000 years old. It's just FM.
We will spend another two days here then fly to the island of Rhodes.
More when we find another inter net cafe.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. We love you all and will be thinking of you.

So, we still don't know if Judy is really getting married. Joyce is getting a new stove, I mean Madame X, Max made it to Adam's birthday party,Mike and Nancy are going to have to inspect Judy's intended and all is well with the world.
We are in Beautiful Down Town Athens tonight. The best thing I can say about it is that it's not raining. We are so glad that we went to the small towns away from Athens first. Greece is really pretty and OLD! We have enjoyed all of it, but so far Athens is a 1 on the scale of 1 to 10. Think Mission District and then muck it up with a tourist trap shop on every corner! Thursday we will leave for Santoirni. then to Crete and Rhodes.
We have changed our plans to go to Egypt. Cairo was full of mourners for Arafat's funeral. Instead we will fly from Crete to London, pick up a rental car and drive to the Triumph factory in Hinckley (which, of course, is my maiden name and I need to do some more research there about my dad's family) Then we will drive to Cornwall and visit Nevada City's sister city, Penzance. Then we will fly from London to the Canary Islands so we can have a week in the sun before we hed back to my city by the bay.
Joyce, did you take pictures of the show in the clubhouse? I can't wait to show you the pictures of the sculpture here in Greece. Imagine a statue 12 feet tall with teeny tiny little toesie and fingers on feet and hands that are the size of a football. It's not possible to explain. Words fail. Also, they had some interesting relationships with their farm animals in those days. Pictures to follow
We are only about one month away from our flight home. Can't wait to see everyone and be prepared to sit though hour and hours of photos.
More later.
