Hi, I was wondering how the trip was going...so click click with the mouse and surprise surprise, sailing around the country has as many adventures as driving across the country. I have been enjoying the sunshine peeking thru the clouds today. But, I am also grateful for the wonderful warmth of my snug house. I hope you have had a great time soaking up the sunshine. Bye for now, Cheryle Anne

Soooo....
The story goes that the new crew member was boarding the ship for duty when he noticed a steering wheel hung on the front of the ship Captain's pants.
"Hey, do you know you have a steering wheel on the front of your pants?" The Captain replies;"
"Aye Matey, it's driving me nuts!"

Nick, Just wanted to see if you still have the boat in the water or have it on land headed to the gulf. Also wanted to let you know that Don Knots passed away. Well Just checking in. You are in our thoughts as you make this trip.

Autopilot arrived, is installed and running. Did Shakedoen cruise to Santa Cruz Island yesterday, spent the night and checked out the wnd vane steering and mizzen sdtaysail on way back. Still organizing stuff and finishing projects, hope to finalize trucking monday or tuesday, wiil know schedule then. Perhaps Sharon or Tony will tell you why they were not allowed onthe island.

It's not "race tracking and results."
It is "Access the race tracking website."
If you don't go there, the results on the FIS home page have not been updated since 2/24 because the race committee is en route to Mexico.
Funny observation: when I sent the previous message, it posted with a date time of 2/27, 12:40am or something. I would never be up that late on a school night. It is actually 2/26, 4:30pm.

Hey, Tony & Sharon: Hope you are enjoying SB and your equipment fix happens soon. Dan started the PV race at 1pm on Friday, 2/24. You can track the race on the San Diego Yacht Club website, www.sdyc.org. Click on the icon for "Vallarta Race" or "PV06", and you land at the FIS tracking website. Choose "race tracking and results" (something like that), then Division 1 (to start with) and you can see as of 3:45pm today, they are almost to Magdalena Bay (3/4 of the way to Cabo), what everyone's boat speed and heading are. It's cool. Peligroso is in 2nd place now, but they are so close with Scout Spirit that it could go either way. Seems like the wind is pretty light: they're doing 8-10 knots the whole time, and you know they can do 25-30 knots in a strong wind. The cruising divisions are already past Cabo San Lucas. Thinking of you both. Write soon and tell us what's up with trucking the boat. Love you.

Hey Sharon, Tony, & Nick,
Just wanted to say hello and let you know we're thinking of you and hope that the auto%*&@pilot is up and running. Please let us know about the trip to Texas. The kids say hello, and I'm glad to see the jasmine "bush" got a send off. That made me smile. Love you...S & C

Hi Mariners!!! Glad to see you guys are alright. Iam sorry we couldn't make it for a visit before you sailed.Steve really wanted to see the ship. The weather here doesn't know what to do. It was warm for days and now we are going to get rain most of next week.( but then you probably already know this) Stay warm and cosy you two. We miss you here!

Discretion has prevailed as that part of valor. After getting away late due to weather and overprovisioning, and after the autopilot demise leaving us to spend a week here in Santa Barbara, we realize that we do not have time to comfotably do the passage thru the canal. We are OK with not pushing just to make the rally to Europe, but the reality is that if we should not make the rally date, we might aslo not be out of the hurricane area by june. We are therefore pursuing the option of trucking the boat to Galveston and sailing from there. This too will be an adventure

Ahoy, high sea travelers! My nickname is surely rising to the occasion since your sail. So glad to hear that you're near dry land for the moment. Although I do envy you on some level, I know I could never undertake such an adventure. Thank you so much for letting me travel vicariously! Do know you are close to my heart and in my prayers. I usually think about you just as I awaken to a new dawn and think about the wonderous sunrises you must be seeing. God bless and God speed and keep those notes coming! P.S. Annie has totally ignored me. Judy says it is because I've not fed her as yet.

So good to here from you!!! Wanted to let you know that your home away from home (Oakhurst & environs) is blanketed w/ snow - well, at least in Nipinnawasse. It snowed some Friday night and mostly melted by Saturday afternoon. Started again overnight and hasn't stopped yet - about 5 inches, here. I haven't talked to D'Elle to find out how much they have at "The Ranch." I've been taking photos like mad and wondering which critters are leaving the tracks in the snow. The best part is that my bird feeders have become immensely popular. It's hard to get anything else done for all the watching I do. Enjoy Santa Barbara and hope you get under way soon.
