Hi Everyone
This is my first journal entry so try and bare with me if it is a bit tedious. I am safely in Melbourne, after 3 long boring flights to Australia. So far I have been just walking around what seems like the whole of Melbourne, just scoping the place out, and getting a feel for the area, as it seems I will be here for the next 2 months atleast.
Currently staying in a hostel with the boys called the Nunnery, which is a basic accomidation, giving you a bed and bathroom facilities. Currently on my third night and am sharing a room with 12 people, which sounds really rubbish, but its not as bad as it sounds, besides no lights are allowed to be turned on and I have been locked out of the room 2 mornings out of 2 for forgetting my key card to get back in. First time I did so was the first morning I had arrived and I had about an hours sleep due to excitement and my sleep pattern being a bit off. So I decided to get up at 7am and beat the rush to the shower. However when I tried to get back in I realised I didnt have a key, which left me stood there in a pair of boxers and a t-shirt with all my wash stuff. I had to wait about an hour and half to get back in as I couldnt bang on the door and wake 12 other people up. So sat in the hall way until someone came out. Not the greatest of starts.
The next day we went out about 12ish and walked around and got something to eat, before taking in some culture at the melbourne museum of sneakers, basically a little look at a lot of shoes. Then we hopped on a bus which was free which took us on a general route around the city, showing us all the good places to visit. We are still yet to find our way round efficently, as today we walked for a good 6 hours atleast and did a lot of walking back on ourselves, catching tramms way out of our desired destination then walking back, then going in the wrong direction... So we still need to work on that. Besides that, having a good time, and seeing it more as a holiday rather than a place to work at the moment. Plenty of places to work, WANTED signs up everywhere for staff, so I am gonna try and either go for a job in a big law firm which looks really cool, and try and blag my way as a lawyer. I will just say "Ok no, not had any previous law experience, but I have seen A Few Good Men, and Justice For all quite a few times, so I will know what I am doing"
Will round it off here cos as I said earlier, dont really have a whole lot to say at this stage, so will just thank everyone who has left a message so far, as its nice to read something from people back home just before I go to bed.
More to come soon, I promise. Just Chris
