For the past week, we (along with jill) rented a wicked van and drove 17 hours up the coast of Queensland...first stop, Airlie Beach...Airlie Beach is a tourist destination because it is the gateway to the whitsunday islands and the great barrier reef. Yesterday we went into the city and explored a little. We took the train from Ormiston, right by bree's house, and got off at South Bank in Bris city. We didn't really have an agenda so we wandered around town and exchanged some money. We walked through the QUT (Queensland University of Technology) campus, and through a bit of the city botanical gardens. Dear All, We have made it to Australia!! The flight had some delays taking off from LAX, and then we had to stop in Fiji to refuel because there was a layer of fog above Brisbane...Overall we were on the plane for about 17 hours. But we made it safely and are really happy to be here. We're staying with Bree's family, and they have all been so hospitable...yesterday when we arrived, we took a shower and relaxed.
