MERRY CHRISTMAS! HAVE A LOVELY CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR!
It is lovely being in Sydney - a truly lovely place to spend time and enjoy life!
Since my last blog, I have settled into life here and have enjoyed what I consider to be the best life has to offer. I am on holiday and 'tho working in the morning, by midday I am on a beach or by a pool doing what I love best - reading and snoozing in the sun and then swimming. I have loved swimming throughout my life and Sydney offers an amazing choice of swims. I think my best swim, the swim of my life, was the other day in Manly, well off Shelley Beach. S and I swam from Shelley Beach to the headland and back. The ocean was clear turquoise, the fish numerous but what struck me most was my inconsequentiality. I swam over rocks, solid and sure, and over underwater plants, just waving in the underwater breeze. I felt myself carried along with the movement of the ocean and gave up the struggle to swim in a straight line and allowed myself to be carried along, just enjoying the feeling of bobbing about.
Swimming is amazing and Sydney is an amazing place to be if you love swimming. I miss my swimming friends dearly when I am swimming here.
Norma and Neil have visited us and the time they spent with us flew by. The highlight for me was the wine tasting in Hunter Valley (great wine, lousy lunch and an amazing kangeroo!). We stayed in a cottage called Cabernet Sauvingnon. But we drank anything but! The drys whites through the reds through the stickies! Brilliant. Peterson was my personal favourite with their slogan 'Just add bubbles' and my, what a brand! I reckon their red wine fizz was incredible.
The thing about travelling is that sometimes it is hard to take in. Sometimes, I need to wake up the next day to appreciate everything that has happened. Pinch me pinch me! That sort of feeling.
It's hot here. It seems to get hotter and hotter. Last two nights spent on the sofa. Wow! It is hard to appreciate how cold the UK is. I wake to 36 degrees and rising. The best way to cool off is the ocean of course!
Well, I will let the photos speak for themselves.
Take care everyone and happy Christmas.
LOL, Ju x
