After a long train journey (on a not so first class train) we arrived in Kuala Lumpur. Simon said that he had upgraded his room to a two bedroom which we were grateful for however when we arrived I could not stop jumping with excitement! It was the biggest place Mark and I had ever stayed in, with a massive lounge, dining room, kitchen and two bathrooms! After putting on the dressing gown and slippers, we decided that we had enough of backpacking and we were going to enjoy our new found lifestyle. (unfortunatley reality had to set in at some point)
We ventured out into Bukit Bintang area and found a nice lebanese restaurant, a lot of food later and it was time for our luxury sleep , followed by our buffet breakfast in the morning (we tried everything!). A day exploring the city, visiting the petronas towers and central market we felt a visit to the Master Fish Foot spa would be a great way to finish off the afternoon. For those of you that have not heard of this, you basically sit with your feet in a fish tank and the fish supposedly 'kiss' your feet, removing the dead skin and giving you a massage. However this was the funniest experience, worst experience and best experience all in one, especially if you have ticklish feet. Great experience, not sure if I would do it again. However I think Mark was a fan, as everytime I turned around he either had dipped his whole legs in, his hands or by the end his head! He also upgraded to the bigger fish, braver (or crazier) than me and Si.
Night out again in KL, where Si took us to the Luna Bar on the 33rd floor of a hotel. It was the best bar ever with great cocktails (recommended if you ever go to KL). It is one of the top 10 bars in the world! You sit on cushioned seats around the edge which has glass walls with views over the city, including the petronas towers. There is a swimming pool in the middle too (not that you are allowed in it under the influence!).
Homeward bound, a day chilling by the pool the next day, and it was time for me and Mark to being 'backpacking' again and for Simon to go home. Thanks for spoiling us Si! We checked into our small hostel in china town and visited the market where you can buy everything fake for very cheap. Packed up that night ready for our next flight to Bangkok, the last leg of our trip.
