Hola
Como Esta? I have been back to work today after a lovely weekend in Banos which is 3 hours by bus from Quito. We left Friday afternoon after spending the morning on a ´Ecuadorian School Trip´ with the kids from another market (not the one I work on) which involved 20 kids and 7 adults cramped in the back of a van with a matress making our way towards La Mitad Del Mundo (the middle of the world museum) which has a park, etc for the kids. Besides the very uncomfortable journey it was an enjoyable morning and all the kids appreciated being away from their normal enviroment for a couple of hours. Anyway back to Banos, we arrived around 7 the Friday evening and managed to find a lovely little hostel that cost all of $7 a night and included breakfast. Anyway that evening we just went for a meal and then the next day got up early and explored Banos. There is an amazing church there ¨Basilica de Nuestra Senora Del Rosando de aguesenda" and the town is all very moutainery. In the afternoon we went on a little bus tour along the moutatins towards Payo and along the way we stopped at lots of lovely waterfalls etc and at one point we actually sat on the roof of the bus as they drove along the cliff (quite scary) but there were benches and stuff on top of the bus. The final stop was at a rainforest were we walked about a 20minute walk to this huge waterfall ´Pallon del Diablo¨where you actually got wet as the pressure of the water was so strong when the waterfall hits the river! The walk back was all uphill and quite tough I really need to do more exercise if I´m planning to do the Innca Trail as I struggled a bit with that uphill walk. Anyway on the Sunday we went to some hot springs not the ones in Banos but these were slightly further out and one was very hot and one cold and another mild. They were quite nice and were completely heated by the local volcano. Unforunately the springs were quite busy and so not as relaxing as you might imagine.
Anyway that is all for now I am going to download my pictures from Banos for you to have look.
Look forward to hearing from you.
