Yesterday we were treated to R&R and it was absolutely fantastic! A journey with a great guide and our team bus driver José was made through some smaller villages outside of Braga and I have no idea right now where we were but we certainly learned why people love Portugal. Stunning. Here's my blurry-eyed quick list. ...
1. A local market. Huge, busy, many roosters (porcelain, wood and live ) and so much stuff from live chickens and ducklings to hand made tools and jewelry. Yeah, lots of food too (no surprise )
2. The Beach! We got to walk the beautiful white sandy beach and see the Atlantic from the other side. A little slice of heaven that gave us all a boost.
3. The fabulous 'Bon Jesus ' church which is set up in the hills overlooking Braga. There are 800 steps to reach it and we all climbed the climb that was sooo worth it. Our energy is limitless these days. ..work hard, play hard. This incredible place took 200 years to build and it's impossible to explain it's beauty. I will get pictures uploaded soon and explain with the visual. All I can say is the sights are as beautiful as the people in Portugal.
Today the septic was completed! A huge milestone. The floor is so so close, will be done tomorrow for sure.
Soria, the 18 yr old daughter baked us a delicious cake today. ..this was the 2nd one she has made for us. The family is so nice and along with Angelo make the morale very high on site. Laughing, dancing, singing and cheering are regular occurrences.
It's late so I'll end now but please check in again for more pictures, lots to come (yup, on-going technical difficulties still plaguing my productivity ) but my favourite daughter's got my back. :-)
