Yes, this blog is being dated back. I arrived in Minneapolis, MN on July 13th, 2009. Funny thing about Minneapolis... it is a hidden treasure. We stayed at the Town Place Suites, which was only about a block from the river. The city is filled with a variety of restaurants, of which I unfortunately did not get to try as many as I would have hoped. I did however get to experience Pizza Luce, Tickles, Sawatdee, and Cat-Man-Du. Its the first time i've ever had Indian food... and well... I am HOOKED! Curt also threw us a wonderful BBQ at which he also provided us with some Lefse, Lingonberry Jam, and pickled herring...yummy! I had an absolute phenominal time.
We rehearsed in the basement of an old warehouse. Not exactly what I was expecting, but it ended up beinging great. I mean beside that fact that we could hear the weightlifters dropping their 500 ton weights ever couple of minutes, the occasional drummer in the room next door, and the great amounts of dust, we had the entire set (minus the doors) and it turned out to be a great rehearsal space. The first week of rehearsal was spent with Mikey being our Pastor and then Bill Christopher joined us in the second week. Its incredible how different the two of them are. Its the same character, but wow. Both very good, but very different. Additionally, Karen, Katie and Jean are simply phenominal, and I am so happy to be touring with them for the next 5 months. All of them are so talented and so fun and loving :) It was also interesting putting the show together. I had been so used to the rhythm that we had in Florida, and it was exciting feeling out everyone else's rhythms, and finding our own new one.
Other than rehearse, I did actually get to explore the city and do some things as well. Katie and I went to the Mall of America our first monday off. I got some things that I needed (jeans, make-up) but then I also fell in love with a black dress, so, i treated myself. We also saw Harry Potter... great movie. Also, Sheldon came to visit, and it was wonderful to see him :) Saw some amaing fireworks, went to a Twin's game (WE WON!!!) and saw CBL: A Second Helping. It was an incredible show, and as funny as it was, it was also heart wrenching as it hit pretty close to home in many ways. And of course it was awesome to see what happens to all of our characters :)
