Oh my goodness... So the last time I updated this blog was end of September... I didn't even realize that much time passed. Well, tour is now over, but I guess I can tell you about some of the highlights. (These are not necessarily in order of occurrence, hope you don't mind :)
1. I experienced my first real casino in Council Bluffs, IA on a boat on a river. Omaha (the city right across the river) is also where i got my hair chopped off. Yes, for those of you who don't know, My hair is quite short now, and I love it... :)
2. Fang came to visit again in Sioux Falls, SD on his way home from VA, which very nice and a lot of fun.
3. Sioux Falls is also where we performed for 2 nights in a 1800 seat house and had it filled to the rim both nights. It was the most incredible feeling.
4. Spent a week in Richardson, TX where i saw my wonderful friend Jason Crafton several times and also got to see my old friend Jaclyn. it was a fantastic week. We stayed at the Renaissance hotel right across the street from the theater. I don't know why, but i just felt right at home there (at the hotel, not the area). By the time we left I knew pretty much everyone who worked there and actually had to say goodbyes to everyone there before I left. I also got a free Renaissance Hotel Teddy Bear from the manager, and he has been keeping me company since. So soft and cuddly :)
5. We spent 20 hours in Vegas. We celebrated Karen's birthday there (a bit early, but well worth it) for which we went to see Thunder from Down Under... haha, yes, it was a lot of fun and pretty darn crazy. Also discovered that I am not to allow myself to play slot machines, as they make me feel extremely lonely and depressed. But Black Jack is a whole different story. I only ended up losing $20 total, which for Vegas I'd say is pretty darn good.
6 We arrived in Mesa, AZ right after Vegas. What a gorgeous area... but there is no grass!!! Anywhere. I looked kind of funny as we were flying in because you could see all the houses with their yards, but their yards were gravel.
7. We did a trail ride our first day off here. Learned quite a bit about the area. Those Cacti take 75 yrs before they even start to grow one arm. Fascinating.... My horse was beautiful. His name was Miskeet, and very well behaved.
8. Meet Me in St. Louis rehearsals began the second week was here. I love it. Don't get me wrong, I loved Church Basement Ladies too, but it felt so wonderful to do something new. I am working with an extremely talented group of people and can't wait for opening... which just happens to be this Thursday... yes, Thanksgiving day :) we had our first run with costumes yesterday! They are sooo beautiful! I think its going to be a great show :)
9. Sunday night I closed CBL... I have been working on that show in some way since January 1 and now its over. I have to say it quite a strange feeling. But now its time to move on to other things :) I love my ladies so much and will always remember them :)
And well, i think that's it. I know I left out a ton, but this i what came to my mind. I don't have internet in the place I'm living now, so I have to go to the club house to check email and all that wonderful stuff, which is fine. Maybe it will get me away from being so internet dependent all the time :) Only thing that I don't like so much is now I can't stay caught up with my tv shows anymore... sigh. Ah well, I'll get over it :)
I wish everyone a happy thanksgiving! I'll do my best to keep you updated a little better from here on out :)
