First Day At Newcastle
So Newcastle turns out to be my very depiction as a public university. I think that it will take sometime getting used to. Before I came I had an idea that the bathrooms were co-ed, but these are out my comfort zone. The showers are even co-ed, which makes things really interesting. It turns out that everyone hates Bush here, and that includes most of my US American friends. When I told them that I supported Bush, it came out more like "I am going to kill your mother." So, I diverted from any other political conversations after that. To my fresh knowledge Newcastle is a "wet" campus, which is more like a monsoon compared to mine. There are about four pubs here on campus, which students support routinely. I have been trying my best to learn about the campus today, walking to and from different buildings finding my way. The journey became a little more difficult when my flip flop broke, and I was half a mile from campus. I thought it would be ok for me to walk to my room and grab another pair, but the hot asphalt came into disagreement with my bare feet. My friend's said they have never met anyone with such bad luck. I say it's just little things that can't get me down, but I know who really working against me in this time, and I realize that this is going to be a very interesting semester.
