5 dives... 5 great dives.
In this dive trip...
1. I experienced one of if not the craziest current ever... Strong and constantly changing... Left to right... Up/down.
2. Saw a magnificent underwater garden - loads and loads of tropical fish living by a wall of pink and blue soft fan corals and hard dark green corals.
3. Found an octopus, crocodile fish and a banded pipe fish by myself.
4. Interacted with lots of morray eels and ribbon eels (which I mistakenly called baby eels).
5. Chased the camera shy puffer fish, box fish and banner fish.
6. Faced a wall of jack fish.
7. Felt guilty over past meals of cute fish and majestic tuna.
8. Learnt the hard way that blood looks green underwater... Slapped a rock accidentally!
9. Saw a massive as nudibranch... About a foot long... OK, maybe half... But still relatively huge!
10. Threw up... But at least didn't get sea mozzies bites this time :)
Dive cost: Because this is our second trip, rubiah gave us (me and kev) a great discount... EUR 15 per dive!! And they gave us this discount without us asking for it!
Food: Averaged IDR 20 for veg and 25 for meat.
Recommendations:
1. Anything from Mama's! Such a great cook and service has improved (disappointedly... Her terribly bad service was charming!).
2. Banana pancake and coffee aceh for breakfast.
3. Nasi goreng or for something a bit healthier, Chap chay for lunch.
4. Olala for dinner... Fun owner, great atmosphere, good food at good price, free wifi. And password isn't changed so you can go online anytime you walk past.
Accommodation: A chalet from yuliahs, IDR 150 for 2 plus 75 for an extra mattress. Chalets 1-3 are by the water and have clean toilet and shower (en suite).
Essentials: Good insect repellent (mozzies are relentless!!), a pack of mozzie coil and sun protection. Sarong is great for both covering up when walking around (locals are conservative) and as a blanket at night.
