First day in copenhagen! Arrived fine by plane and the airport looked all scandanavian, like olis kitchen. The air-con in the shuttle to the station was broken and it was 32 degrees in the centre - we spent 30 mins on the Train and it's the hottest I've ever been, especially with jeans on. I'd guess around 40. Apart from that was good we found the hotel (not hostel) easily and it's a nice room with big windows for a breeze; we need it cos we are all boiling. I had some poor packing tekkers so it took ages to sort everything out. Funky currency though, holes in the coins and everything.
Once out of the hotel we got niice ice creams, then met up with olis cousin Victor who came from Vaijle to give us the tour. He's also crazy, but nice. we got some Somersby's (like apple tizer flavour cider) and some bread rolls from a bakery and went to a lake to sit in the shade and munch it all. You get 1k for every empty can you take back, so there are tramps going round cleaning up after you, it's a genius idea.
We then walked around the city looking at some of the sites which was hot and tiring before heading back to the hotel to change (top gear was on!) we found a Turkish buffet for 80k. I had calamari against everyones advice and now I feel a bit queasy. We wandered around the fountains and squares with jazz playing, and all copenhagians just sit around by the squares, lazy b******s.
Victor went home at 12 30, so we hung around a while longer them headed back. Quality first day but PLEASE GOD LET IT COOL DOWN I can't take another day of 33 degree heat...
