Well, have managed to make it to San Francisco, despite what could possibly go down in history as the worst flight in history.
I got to sit next to two children and you can imagine how thrilled I was about that. About 3 hours in, however, I was marvelling at the surprisingly good behaviour exhibited by said children. Famous last words (or thoughts as the case may be). Said children then went feral right when I wanted to go to sleep and when they FINALLY went to slept several hours later, one of the children puked on me! He miraculously managed to get neither his mother nor father. Just me. Awesome. Managed one singular hour of sleep during the flight and was woken up by someone giving me a hot towel.
Had a surprisingly good run through customs and baggage claim and was out of the airport within half an hour. I made an executive decision to catch a cab instead of trying to brave the train network in a new city. Arrived at the hotel three hours early for check-in so ditched my stuff (which by the way, I have WAY too much of - some of it will need to be left behind in Seattle) and went for some food and a wander around. I may have fallen asleep briefly on the grass in Union Square.
They finally let me into my room at 2 and have since had some sleep, a shower and some peanut butter M&Ms so I'm far happier (also free wireless internet - yay). Looking forward to seeing Amelia tomorrow and staying with her for the rest of the week.
Love and hugs to Neptune and Bunni. Just love to Sammy since he is not fond of hugs.
