Hello all!
Thank you for your Tsunami warnings, everything here is normal, we will keep our eyes and ears peeled, and also have caz's mob with us all the time!
Our travelling day from Koh Phangan was rainy one which we were pleased about as it meant we didnt miss out on any sun.... got to Samui's amazing airport and helped ourselves to some free grub there, and had a sleep and watched the football as all the flights had been delayed due to the bad weather. Our plane turned out to be even smaller than the last one we got, plus the planes were making awful skidding noises as they landed, so i was relieved when we touched down in Phuket and met our hostel owner easily. (he had a huge sign with Joanna written on it so it was hard to miss lol!) the hostel was quite far from the airport, but he was plesant and spoke excellent english as had lived out there for a few years (and had brought back a greatest hits 1997 album with him to keep us entertained lol) The hostel was lovely, and as we were so far from town we were very very pleased to see that the video collection included The Beach!!!! Perfect as we were off there the next day! Plesant sleep there and then unfortunately were stung with the bill in the morning - almost double what we were expecting, but its a long story and was quite stressful so i wont go into that one.........
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanyway, the boat trip to PhiPhi island took few hours, but the sea was flat so there were no sea sickness worries which was great, and there were hundreds of flying fish, which kept myself and caz amused as we were trying to figure out how and why they can fly.... will have to find out. eventually got here after much ooooh-ing and aaahhhh-ing on approach, and walked through the streets to find our hostel (there are no roads here which means no cars/bikes/lorries of any kind which is sooooooooooooo lovely!) after checking in we headed for the beach as to Caz's upset there is no pool here at Kinnaree House (Mat/Vernon you have a lot to answer for lol) but I love the beach, and we are pretty much in paradise, what could be better?! so as i sunbathed, listening to the sound of the ocean and taking a dip or two, caz practised her poi's ( the fire things ) as a few guys from the bar behind us were practising for the night's performance, and were teeaching a few eager beavers (including caz) how to do it!happy caz! In the evening we took a little stoll and settled down for dinner. Then the rain came! it chucked it down, we sat there looking at it for a while and then decided to give up on our evening and headed home, of course getting totally drenched - very funny! luckily we had a tv in our room so we watched some really weird film with Katie Holmes in...
Today we went to a different beach which was gorgeous, and literally did nothing - we are going to go on a boat trip tomorrow hopefully, and on thursday we're going to kayak to monkey bay in the morning and get a taxi boat to long beach in the afternoon. thats the plan anyway! Ah i love it here, much more than the hustle and bustle of Haad Rin - althoughit was my favourite sand EVER it is so so chilled out and relaxed, quite quaint really, although there are still lots of people. the major thing is that there are no cars, it is sooooooooo quiet!
so we are now off to get dinner, and head out to some bars most likely, and maybe do a bit of batering as caz has seen a necklace she likes...
hope you are all well, thanks again for all your messages (and warnings!)xxxxxxxxxxxx
